I was watching videos and I noticed that sometimes my FF freezes when I look at the preview of a video. The computer is working fine since I can tell that it is only the browser "screen" that is freezing and not the whole pc. I can fix that by clicking outside the browser's window, like clicking the taskbar and it goes back to normal, still very annoying. I was able to completely fix the issue by unchecking the option "Use recommended performance settings" and just leaving the option "Use hardware acceleration when available" ON. Now I don't have these random freezes while still being able to use hardware acceleration.

My question is: what are those "recommended performance settings" that FF was using? I can't find any information about them or a list. I know that FF uses my pc specs to determine those settings but I wish I could manually set them by myself. Any ideas? Thanks!

Recently Firefox has been randomly crashing the past 3 weeks multiple times, Is anyone else having this odd issue ? I'll be watching a stream or youtube video and bam out of no where the Browser goes black for like 20 or 30 seconds then crashes. I sent in about 3 crash reports and wondering if the Firefox team is aware of this issue.

I've never used them and can't imagine allowing them to clog my message headings so I uncheck them when I find them.

I have an @rogers.com email account and a few @yahoo.ca accounts, and have trouble setting them in Thunderbird for Android.

Rogers uses Yahoo servers for mail access but has its own servers for authentication. Ever since I first tried to set up my Rogers email account, Thunderbird has been sending me straight to the Rogers authentication page (rogersmembercentre.com) instead of the Yahoo page, regardless of whether the account that I am trying to set up is a Rrogers email or a Yahoo email (I tried both @yahoo.ca and @yahoo.com, and even @yahoo.pl). Rogers then asks me to enter my email address again, and rejects it because it's not an @rogers.com address.

Before the first time I added a Rogers account, I'm pretty sure I had seen it work correctly: I entered my Yahoo email, Thunderbird asked me to confirm Yahoo's servers and port numbers, then sent me to the Yahoo authentication page, where I entered my password and there was no problem. But it seems that the association of Yahoo mail server with the Rogers OAuth server got stuck somewhere, and I can't get it unstuck. Even if I delete Thunderbird's data and/or uninstall it and reinstall it, it still sends me to the Rogers page when I try to add a Yahoo email account. I guess this means that it's cached somewhere outside the Thunderbird app, maybe in some system cache of my phone, and it's possible that it's not a Thunderbird bug but an Android bug?

Hi I am syncing contacts between iCloud and Thunderbird and in most aspects it’s flawless. However when I change or create a contact in Thunderbird there seem to be a problem in character encoding. When I view the contact in iCloud the swedish characters åäö are replaced with som random strings. The other way around works as it should.

Does anyone recognize the problem and perhaps have a solution? Thanks.

I get speeds around 10 Mb but every so often I get buffering for seconds and speed drops to around 1 Mb and a few Kb upload. Panning my cctv cameras can vary from a delay of 0.5 scs to several seconds. Three years ago my estate was told that high speed fibre would be available but we are still waiting (we are only 100mtrs from the Plympton exchange.) There is no response whatsoever from OpenReach and it says no update is planned now.

How can I find out what is happening.? if I am not going to get fibre then I will cancel my contract and switch to 5G.

I am suddenly unable to login in to eBay using Firefox. This just started this morning (it was working fine last night). I opened Firefox in safe mode - no change - so it is not a plugin that is causing the problem. Here is what happens:

I click on my bookmark, and the login screen for eBay opens (sometimes). I enter the username, then it takes me to the stupid Captcha page. I pass that, then it goes back to the username page and says, "Oops, that's not a match". It will do this repeatedly for hours on end if I chose to do so. I have cleared the cache/cookies, so that is not he issue, either.

I can login to eBay just fine with Safari and Edge, so it is not a problem with my operating system. If anyone knows what might be causing this, your input will be greatly appreciated. Firefox version is 132.0.2.

I am unable to send any messages. Getting this error message - An error occurred while sending mail. The mail server responded: Resources restricted from 69.115.218.69 - try again later (AA,31).

It will list whatever address I am sending to or one off of a group. If I delete the one address it lists out of a group I get the same message with a new address cited.

Any suggestions?

I just installed Android V 8.1 and the anti-spam function isn't working. Spam mail is not being automatically filtered as it is supposed to do, and does on the desktop version. In addition the junk/spam mail settings that are supposed to be in the Accounts area are not there and the Swipe to Spam function also doesn't work nor does the "long press" to get to the spam marking option.

Any estimate as to when this functionality will be brought online?

While cleaning up email to get rid of the large amount of junk I sort by correspondent. This allows me to select several of the mostly junk emails together to delete them. I highlight the first email I want to delete, go to the last one and hit shift and click. Sometimes that can be over a hundred or so emails to delete at once. After selecting delete, sometimes they don't all delete. The email is no longer bolded as though I had read it, but only a portion of the selected actually delete. It sometimes takes 2, 3 or more times of selecting them to get them to all delete. This has just been recently, within the past few months that I have noticed this. Not a terrible problem, but curious as to why this happens.

Starting about a year or more ago, when trying to set up profiles on Thunderbird for a comcast.net email address, it would fail. The different errors generated would indicate it was a problem on the mail server, and not with thunderbird. Even comcast support couldn’t figure it out. With trial and error, I finally did. - Enter your name, address and password in the setup screens and allow it to get to the “configuration found” menu. - Select to configure manually. - Under incoming server for IMAP, Authentication Method will show 0Auth2. Change it to normal password. - For Username, it will be set to the entire email address. Remove the “@” sign and everything to the right of the “@” sign. So instead of email@domain.com it will show “email” and that’s it. - Under outgoing server for SMTP the authentication method will show 0Auth2. Change it to normal password. - If username shows the entire email address, (It shouldn’t, if you changed it for IMAP) then remove the “@” sign and everything to the right of the “@” sign. - Click the Re-Test button and it should pass. - Click the Done button and the setup should be completed with no issues. -
