My firefox stopped working today and i uninstalled and downloaded the program. When i tried to open firefox I received a message that my profiles are missing. I followed the instructions to find the folder and there was nothing there, I have tried to create a new profile folder but the program will not open. I have lost all of my bookmarks and profile info. HELP!!!!!

If you go to the profiles folder on your computer (I assume that you've been there already), there should be a file called profiles.ini in that folder. If it's not, try navigating up 1 folder and you should find it.

Rename that folder to profiles.ini.old and then see if Firefox opens. That file holds information that Firefox uses to located your profile folder. If the profile folder is missing or moved, the information in that file will point to an invalid location and give Firefox an error.

Renaming that file should force Firefox to rebuild the profiles.ini file again and create a fresh profile.
