Can't get e-mails from one server to arrive in Thunderbird Global Inbox
I'm trying to connect to a new remote mailbox. I've succeeded in getting e-mails to download into a specific Thunderbird inbox for this new account, but I can't get them to download into the Global Inbox.
Background: I already have a global inbox set up, which receives e-mails from several sources (has done for years). The new source is my own domain (i.e. not gmail, hotmail, etc), but not at my broadband ISP. I have been forwarding from this domain to my mailbox at my broadband ISP for years, but now I want to download direct.
When I set the account to use the Global Inbox I can see (in the status bar) that an e-mail is being found on the remote server, and it appears to be downloaded (it's not there next time I try). But it isn't showing up in the global Inbox. Nor is it showing up anywhere else (i.e. it's not being filtered into a different folder). It's conceivable that if it were being filtered it could also be marked as 'read', so I am checking for that.
I've got this new account set to download separately (i.e. 'Include this server when getting new e-mail is NOT checked. It doesn't seem to get included when I check that box). I download from the new server from 'Get Messages', where it is listed separately,
Any suggestions about what to try next, please?

I found that the messages from the new account were going into the TB Junk mailbox (and being marked as 'read').
Why Thunderbird should have decided they were junk is still unclear. For the test messages it might have been because they were all somewhat similar, and arose in a short time span, but that should not have applied to messages from other senders, most of whom have sent (and received) messages before.
I'll do some more tests. Meanwhile any suggestions about the reason for the junk classification are welcome.

Am I getting this wrong? Are you using " View / folders / unified" ? The unified folders are just pointers to the other folders. If you change from unified to all and back. It should be rewritten.
EDIT My wrong, You apparently have set the POP-account to download to a global folder in Local folders. http://kb.mozillazine.org/Global_Inbox

Yes, that's right. Set to download to a global folder in local folders. Works for all my other e-mail accounts!
Trying 'View > Unified' gives a single Inbox, but it's not the layout I'm used to (though there's probably nothing wrong with it per se).
Thanks for the input.

Does your anti virus have a phishing and spam tool? They have in the past sent everything to the junk folder.
Thanks for the suggestion. Yes, it might be Kaspersky doing it stuff too zealously. The messages sent to spam were coming from a server it had not seen before and perhaps it didn't like that.
It seems to have settled down now.
