like many others before me i have a recent problem of being unable to sync data between my mac and android...having read some others posts i found the sync hiding under the email address...and have completed that ..However all the tabs/ data etc is all over the place and not as it was.... some in folders, some just randomly placed anywhere...please help

Firefox for Android has a section called Shortcuts on its home page, see picture. You can pin pages there (note the drawing pin in the top left corner of the icons), which makes them easily accessible.

However, if you browse the internet, you will notice, that additional pages will appear on the list, after the pinned ones. This happens randomly. The browser decides arbitrarily which pages it puts there, the user cannot influence this, or turn this off in Settings. Additionally, you cannot remove them from the list. If you long-tap one of them, there is only the option to delete it from history (which removes it from the list as a consequence).

This annoying feature is 2.5 years old. Please make a setting that turns it off. I don't want the browser to append to my list of Shortcuts.

I just discovered a bunch of installed extensions in the list I don't recognize, including several I definitely would not be interested in.

Is this the way Firefox android works?

Why is it possible to copy text from a YouTube comment in Opera or DuckDuckGo but not in Firefox for Android? The ability to select text is one of the most basic features in a browser.

I have used Mozilla for a long time as my default web browser. Note: This page works on Chrome browser.

I've had a few hundred tabs open for a few years and they never closed on their own. I usually bookmark some and open others on a regular basis. Never had any problems. But just now I opened my browser again and suddenly all of them were gone! Can anyone please help me? How can I restore them??

I added an Android version of Firefox and synced it to Windows, but I do not seem to have control of where a bookmark saved from there goes to: it always seems to be a folder previously selected in Windows.

Here is a "story": 1. I want to sign in into github using a passkey stored on my yubikey 2. I plug in my yubikey 5C into my phone (samsung z flip 6) 3. I open github.com in firefox 4. I press "sign in with a passkey" 5. Firefox opens some samsung chooser, I choose "other devices > show qr code" 6. login fails and firefox opens Google's prompt to enter pin for the yubikey (but the login already failed, so it does not matter)

My roommate experiences the same bug with his yubikey and his samsung S24.

Doing the same in chrome works. Instead of opening samsung thing it opens Google thing directly where I can choose "use a different device" and it works after that (no login fail).

Is this a known issue? Can I do something to fix it or at least debug it?
