I use [control]- and [control]+ on the number pad to zoom the text in and out.

For some reason, [control]+ on the number pad no longer works. It does, however, work using the number keys at the top of the keyboard.

I have tried starting Firefox with no extensions loaded ... no joy. I have tried creating a new profile under my user account ... no joy. I have system administrator privileges.

When I launch Firefox using the Full Administrator's account and password, all the keys work.

I'm using Firefox 22.0 on top of Windows XP Professional.

Thanks for your help. You might not be any good at troubleshooting; but, you are FANTASTIC at providing a map.

That particular software did not tell me where the problem was. But, the theory of that software pointed me to Windows Hotkey Commander (http://hkcmdr.anymania.com/index.html). I was able to find that Natural Reader software (which was the very last software that I installed the other day) was the one that was hijacking the key sequence. Windows Hotkey Commander allows me to disable that particular key sequence ... well worth the money.

Thanks.

Does Ctrl++ still work in Adobe Reader or other programs that recognize that combination?

Can you think of any external software that might have captured that combination globally for some purpose (e.g., screen recorder software hotkey to start a new capture)?

This is driving me nuts.

The key combination does not work in either Firefox or Adobe Reader when I'm logged in as myself (with Admin privileges). When I login as Administrator, I do not have the problem.

I had to reformat my computer and reinstall all software a couple of days ago due to another problem. Interestingly, until yesterday afternoon, the key combos worked in both my account and the Administrator account. Sometime yesterday afternoon while reinstalling all the software, I lost the key combo on only my account again.

I checked the registry on both my account and the Administrator account ... no difference ... no joy.

If this happens in both Firefox and Adobe Reader, it's gotta be because of one of the pieces of software that I installed yesterday afternoon ... right???

Oh, I don't use any screen captures or hotkeys. It must be something that I'm not aware of.

Thanks.

I'm not very skilled at Windows troubleshooting. I did find a program that says it will list out all the globally assigned hotkeys. Haven't tried it out.
