On a Mac you can look here:
- Firefox > Preferences > Security: Passwords: "Saved Passwords" > "Show Passwords"

Have you tried Tools->Options->Security tab->Saved passwords button? There you will see your password and be able to remove it.

On firefox 5 there is no options option in the tools drop down box
