All of a sudden, I keep getting this when trying to send: Alert: An error occurred while sending mail. The mail server responded: Request failed. Mailbox unavailable please check the message and try again

Incoming Mail Server (POP3): pop.verizon.net | Port 995 Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP): smtp.verizon.net | Port 465 SSL enabled

I am able to receive with no problem. I can send mail using Outlook without a problem. Is it time to forget about Tbird and go to Outlook?

I rely on email for my business. :-(

Do you have a reply-to setting? Removing this fixed the problem for me.

That sounds like a solution but I need a reply-to address for my business.

I fixed the problem by not using verizon.net as my default smtp server. I also have a netaddress account and when I switched to that, messages were sent and received without a problem.

So it seems this is a Verizon/Thunderbird issue. Also, it started right after Windows 10 updated.

No you don't, you only need to set reply to what you want replies directed to an address other than the one sending the mail.

I do however think we can score one for the Yahoo people messing with spam filtering again. (Yahoo/AOL is Verizon) and everything appear to be set to Yahoo standards, so your service is likely to degrade over time further.
