i did not know how to set up the e mail from thunderbird. i want to get a seperate e mail and not use the e mail from google. i have set up an account, i dont now how to set up something like jaustin@trunderbird.com

You cannot setup an account with the thunderbird domain. If you do not want google, you might try outlook.com or gmx.com or others.
