Exsisting working on PC (win 8.1 pro) New notebook for work, nee to migrate/install email. Do not want notebook to remove emails from server, where is that setting?

PC already working fine with 15 email address/accounts I ned these on notebook.

Setting up Thunderbird for email on new notebook for work. All the same emails. Is there a profile/migration tool? Is that the right way to do this? Better way? How to set config, so email isn't downloaded / taken off server onto notebook? Just want to read and maybe respond to and or create emails on new notebook. Best way to do this? other ideas? Thank you so much in advance!!

Lots of questions. Just set account to IMAP and messages in inbox will be retained.

Thank you very much for the answer. Not a power user anymore.

Was considering enabling the MS Office on the notebook and using MS Outlook.

Anything I should worry about that, or to consider using MS Outlook, or just another client? Best to migrate profiles in Thunderbird?

2 questions.

Thank you VERY MUCH. Rich

All I can say on the topic, Rich, is that I've seen a lot of people migrating from Outlook to Thunderbird in past couple of months. The transition goes smoothly for some, not so smoothly for others.
