When I do an internet search for anything at all and then click on any of the resulting links, I am redirected to http://thedailysatire.com/?search=reverse+phone+lookup&n=1382136028.

If I type in a link directly to the address bar or click on a link on a page that is not a search result, I don't have this problem (for example, if I search for mozilla support through google and then clink on a link I get thedailysatire, but I don't have problems when I type in mozilla.org directly and click around within the mozilla support pages).

To fix, I tried norton and adwcleaner and neither have fixed the problem. I also tried looking at Firefox extensions and ad-ons, but no joy. This seems like an obvious adware issue, but so far no potential solutions have worked. Help?

You have no extensions, or you have no extensions that appear suspicious? Don't trust the names; if in doubt, disable, or try testing in Firefox's Safe Mode. That's a standard diagnostic tool to bypass interference by extensions (and some custom settings). More info: Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode.

You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using

Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled

In the dialog, click "Start in Safe Mode" (not Reset)

Any difference?

Could you also check your connection setting to see whether it has an unexpected routing.

orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced > Network mini-tab > "Settings" button

The default is "Use system proxy settings" and you also could try "No proxy"

Some "redirect viruses" are deeply embedded and require a rootkit remover to uncover. This article has a link to TDSSKiller, which is useful in such cases: Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware.

Now that is interesting--I tried your first solution (restarting Firefox in safe mode). This worked; no more redirecting when I click on a search link.

The odd thing is, I only have three extensions listed, and all three previously were and still are disabled. I don't have the option to delete them (the only clickable thing is "enable"). I have tried a few searches in safe mode, and then after restarting Firefox, and the solution is holding thus far. Thank you! I hope it continues to work...
