It occurs at the bottom of every web page...including this one...at the bottom, where the add-on toolbar used to be.

Would it be possible to collect logs? If you go to about:config and turn on "services.sync.log.appender.file.logOnSuccess" and open up about:sync-logs, this will give more detail on the bug.

It may be a network error, but I am not sure, the logs may help.

If you're seeing this bar you shouldn't need to set logOnSuccess; just take a look in about:sync-log for an error log, and post the last one here. Thanks!

Sounds like Bug 821757. It implies that something in your bookmarks and history database is malformed. I've reopened that bug; if you can, your help with finding the cause would be appreciated!

If you don't mind me seeing your bookmarks and history, sending me a copy of places.sqlite from your profile directory would be the quickest approach. If you don't want to share that personal data, then we can figure something else out.

places.sqlite way to private..I know it would help both of us... but I just looked at it... So, no... Anyway...

If it helps your report any I can tell you I suspected it because my bookmarks have always had weird behaviors..since about FF27... when they were imported from a Firefox- Yahoo Edition (I accidentally installed and then uninstalled) when I did a clean re-install. If there is something specific you would like me to find in the places.sqlite that might help the bug report..or other...I'll be glad to help....

Yes, rebuilding places.sqlite should fix the issue. Please keep a copy of the database, though! It'll allow us to (via you) test hypotheses.

Ok- once again, thanks for all your help... what I did... 1. Exported my bookmarks to HTML (just in case)..... 2. Made a backup of my bookmarks (just in case).... 3. Per article: ,,, http://kb.mozillazine.org/Locked_or_damaged_places.sqlite ,,,, for damaged places database, I installed the addon: places maintenance 1.3 and ran it with all variables EXCEPT "vacuum" (there were no instructions and all the options seemed safe except 'vacuum')

...Now Syncing works with PC and Android phone without any error. ...Also my bookmarks act normal (ie- they stay where I put them and do not get rearranged)

If either of you are familiar with this addon..what does 'vacuum' do? and do you know where to find docs or instructions?

The problem with my bookmarks was...

I never really sorted my book marks (too lazy to create specific folders ect)....instead I just always added bookmarks to the end of my toolbar and they would go into the overflow ...I had around a hundred at a time located in the toolbar and would delete them as needed or change there order of importance ect.....it was just quicker, less mouse clicks/movement, to hit the overflow icon (>>) on the bookmarks toolbar and scroll down to find what I wanted instead of opening up the bookmark windows and finding the folder.....when I reinstalled FF27 to get rid of the FF Yahoo Edition I thought I exported and imported my bookmarks correctly, but it never worked right with my toolbar method anymore.....what would happen is - when I added a new bookmarks at the end of the toolbar, sometimes they would not stay there, or they would get rearranged, and I would have to open up the bookmarks window and find them in the "show all bookmarks"....sometimes they would come back to the toolbar and sometimes they were all rearranged....now they are staying in the toolbar where I put them.

If remove delete history items or bookmarks then the space that the items take in the places.sqlite file is filled with null bytes, but the size of the places.sqlite remains unchanged.
Vacuuming an SQLite database file will compact the file by removing those null bytes, so the file may get smaller.
Note that Firefox uses specific minimum sizes for SQLite database files (for places.sqlite a multiple of 10 MB), so you may not see a change in file size at all.

That explains it....Vacuum just sounded too destructive without knowing!....That's sounds like something I should do, considering how many I have and delete..that helps alot..thanks.

I had the same issue, my suggestion is to turn off add-ons sync. if you do not have any passwords saved, turn off password sync aswell

the last option fixed my problem.
