Hi, It's been a while this little buggy behaviour appeared and I didn't take time to report it (or ask if it is normal) until now. When you open a new firefox window, the default url (for example https://www.default-url.com) is displayed and then the corresponding web page. Just after the window is opened, I used to quickly click in the url bar to enter an url (for example www.new-url.com). Before, when I was clicking in the url bar, the current (default) url was selected (highlighted), and so replaced with what I was typing. Since a while (I don't really know in which FF version it appeared), when you quickly click in the url bar after opening a new FF window, the current (default) url is selected (highlighted), but if the current page is a bit large (and thus a bit slow to be displayed), then the current url is de-selected, and the cursor is blinking before the url. And so when you type an url, the result url is a concatenation of what you are typing, and the default one (with my example : www.newurl.comhttps://www.default-url.com). This behaviour can be reproduced with https://www.qwant.com/ as default url for example.

If I go to that website and immediately start typing in the URL bar it replaces it with what I typed. But you're saying on your end it just concatenates it so you have a mixture of the old and new url, right?

If you want to override loading the home page page with a new URL then best is to press the ESC key to abort loading to prevent this issue as Firefox might still be in connect state where the location bar doesn't show the URL (i.e. is still waiting for the web site).

If you pres ESC, ok loading is aborted but focus is lost. Cursor is not in url bar and you have to click in url bar to start entering your url.
