Google as default calendar: No writable calendar...

I have a non-google email account and a few google calendars.

In Lightning, if I add an event to a google calendar, I can go to calendar.google.com and see that it sync'd up perfectly! ie: it's writing and reading perfect.

I am using Google Calendar Tab and Provider for Google Calendar.

However, when someone emails me an invitation, it tells me "No writable calendars are configured for invitations, please check the calendar properties"

What am I doing wrong? I don't want to use a local-only calendar because then if this computer dies, I lose my schedule.

Thank you!

each calendar has an email address associated with it. In the calendar tab right click a calendar and select properties

Is the address receiving the invites listed as associated with a calendar. I am guessing not.

I did not mean to hit solved!!

It does not have an associated email address. However, I don't see where to do that? When I had a local calendar, I saw that option in the properties. But it's not listed in the properties of the google calendars.

Thanks!

Looks like someone unsolved it. Not that I care much what they have, other than solved get onto Google.

Google Calendar Tab is never going to work as a real calendar. Sorry it is a web page, not something in Thunderbird.

Use lightning to ADD the google calendar to Thunderbird using cal dav

Try what I wrote a year or two ago on the topic. http://thunderbirdtweaks.blogspot.com.au/2014/10/lightning-and-caldav.html
