Can't change name or delete email after saving in Windows 7

In the past, after saving an email, I could either delete it or change its name by right clicking the file, choosing rename or delete, and then changing the name, or deleting the email from the folder. Now, when I right click on a thunderbird email, these options are no longer in the drop down menu. Is there a setting problem, or has Mozilla changed the drop down menu to be less user friendlly?

I assume your referring to an industry standard EML file in the file system (Exactly the same as used in the venerable Outlook Express). If that is the case your Windows is the issue. The file system and Thunderbird are not that closely related to be making menu entries.
