Firefox detected using camera
I just got an alert from the permission monitor on my Android saying that Firefox has been detected to use camera. I was browsing at the time, but none of the pages were camera related.. I was looking at apartment listings. One possible clue was that I was using Google auth to create an account on a website (sign in with Google). How to investigate this further?

HI
Yes, Firefox for Android may request access to use the camera on your mobile device. Firefox has the ability to read QR codes (the square barcodes you may see on some items and websites) and to do this it needs to "see" them through the camera.
If you do not wish Firefox for Android to do this, please decline the permission request that is displayed on the screen
Hi Thanks for your answer I did not get a request for permission.. I got this alert from GlassWire. Also, I was not trying to use the camera in any way while using Firefox, that's why I'm puzzled as to why Firefox would engage my camera during my usage. Serge
Hi
If you wish to change this persmission, from the Android 8 home screen:
- Choose the Settings app (tyically a cog wheel)
- Select Apps & notifications
- Tap on App permissions and find Camera
- Select Firefox and move the slider to the left
This should resolve this issue.
