i have tried all the forums, and suggestions on there do not solve my problem with safe search

Can you clarify what safe search feature this is about?

Stab in the dark : You're talking about a browser hijacker, like 'SafeSearch Incognito' or 'SafeSearch net' ...... (?)

In that case : Go to the 3-bar menu (or   'Tools') => Addons => Extensions and look for any unfamiliar or suspicious looking extensions, like e.g. :

SafeSearch Incognito SearchAssist Incognito SafeSearch net File Convertor and Search Addon

When you find any : remove them.

Do the same in Windows' Control Panel => Programs.

However :   most malware will be 'hiding' somewhere , so let's run malware scans :

Run most or all of the listed malware scanners.
They all work differently   -   what one program doesn't pick up, the other might.

this did help me learn a little bit more about my computer program. haven't done malware check yet. Thank you very much for this information Happy112.

You're welcome  ! Do the names of the possible hijackers ring any bells  ? After you've run those malware scans, you will let us know if you got rid of that nuisance, won't you  ? Take all the time you need  !

You posted with a Linux computer, so malware would hardly be an issue.

Does it have any effect if you disable the Ubuntu modification extension that Ubuntu usually ads to Firefox.

Try to create a new profile to test if your current profile is causing the problem. Make sure that there aren't any extensions enabled in the new profile.

If the new profile works then you can transfer files from a previously used profile to the new profile, but be cautious not to copy corrupted files to avoid carrying over problems.

As I'm still not sure if you are talking about a browser hijacker, or simply want to turn of Google SafeSearch - you can easlily do that here :

Google SafeSearch isn’t tied to any web browser as it’s linked to your Google account.

I asked you whether this is about Google SafeSearch in my first reply, but you didn't answer what I asked in my first two replies, so could you please confirm what you mean and possibly attach a screenshot to clarify this?

Hence I'm referring to it ....... We can come up with all kinds of well-meant suggestions, but as long as we're not sure what the problem really is, speaking for myself : all I can give are stabs in the dark.
