Why full bloated Java just for a small Firefox plugin?
re: http://www.java.com/en/download/faq/firefox_newplugin.xml
simple installing the firefox java 1.6 plugin fails.
you get a working version of this tiny plugin as a 'reward' once you installed a full Java version. but that adds up to more than 70MB of data unkown necessity and background running services.
Blackberry converter site is the only one I have use for it anyway to key sign my apps .
are there still efforts made to get the plugin working without the c**p?

It doesn't matter, that machine that has Firefox 3.6 needs to be updated.
If you are trying to use a site that requires java, you need java installed. That isn't Firefox's fault, it is the fault of the website develop. I'm not sure what you are asking here.

Sorry, Mozilla doesn't "work on" Java, it is up to Oracle to do what they think is 'right' for Java.
Also, Mozilla doesn't support old versions of Firefox, like the one you have installed.
well, you clever boy - the fact that this site reads and stores the system people writing from makes you believe the problem derives from?
also, there ain't no "old" "unsupported" versions, there is support, add-ons etc still with confinements.
sorry, no efforts at all to answer me. just teaching and taking the pi%% somehow.
it needs more than that to be a top contributor at Mozilla than 21k bin of answers.
ps don't you dare to delete this post, I'll saved a screen copy and will complain in an official writing if so!
Please update to Firefox 19.0.2. Then update to Java 7 update 17. Firefox 3.6 is old, insecure, no longer supported, and not recommended for use anymore.

but I am only writing from my mobile device. it got nothing to do with my question you may conclude from my [System Details] .
may I just clarify - we have a server farm and we do not have or consider to install any Java or Adobe programs for security reasons. now, and if the recent security discussion will not settle for a decent period, neither in the future.
please use any!!! FF and access this official Blackberry site: https://bdsc.webapps.blackberry.com/android/bpaa/ enter a whatever email and tick the agreement box.
on the next page 2 you have set an applett permission to a allow the
Java applet (plugin) to test your Android apps for compatibility, and to repackage and sign your apps.
if Java is not installed you get an error and can't proceed at all - "...You do not have Java 1.6 Plugin enabled or Java 1.6 is not installed in the System. Applet has not been granted permission, please restart this browser and try again. .."
you may agree now, that this problem got nothing to do with the OS or version of FF installed and FF itself.
we want to keep our server JAVA clean but like to offer our BB users (which includes me) the service of this site without installing and servicing bloatware.
that's what the question was about - has someone got an isolated plugin working within Firefox (see also discussion in the web)
