while trying to play games they keep telling me to activate Java and the way that they are telling me is not showing up on firefox "options" Please advise.

My wife plays games on POGO.com, when she tries to play games it tells her that the system does not have the most up to date java, even after it is down loaded. Also when you try to activate using the instructions it tells you to go to the firefox options, content then check enable java script. That option does not appear, just the block pop up windows is there and checked. Any help would be appreciated.

You can find the latest Java version on the Oracle website.

See Java Platform > Java SE 7U51 (JRE Download)

There has been a change in the Java security settings, see:

If you visit a website regularly then a possible workaround is to add the URL to the Java Exceptions Site List, see:

Hi ichido, this tip --

I held down the Shift Key while I left clicked on the Reload Arrow, and it worked!

-- is really handy when Firefox has cached an older version of a page or any of the linked-in files, such as scripts, to force a full reload.

When sites update, Firefox sometimes mismatches old cached files with new ones, which can cause the page to malfunction. So the full reload (Ctrl+Shift+r / Command+Shift+r), or clearing Firefox's whole cache, is a great first thing to try when pages that worked fine until now act up.
