eml-message-header-date-field - reset to timenow after copy
Needing to restore message (eml) from a backup but having problems with eml-message-header-date-field - after copying from another TB folder or drag/drop from Windows folder, eml-message-header-date-field is reset to current time. Is the file timestamp used as eml-message-header-date-field? I want to restore lots of emails (eml files) but don't want them all to come in as timenow. Thanks.
EDIT: I think I've worked out which message filed gets updated - in my view incorrectly (but how?!?) Message header field/attribute Date: e.g. Date: Fri, 12 Jul 2020 03:34:06 -0700

I have no idea really what your on about. There is a date in the top of the message source in the form From - Mon Aug 12 17:25:11 2019 which is as I understand it the date the message get into Thunderbird.
The actual message date is in the date header in the format
Date: Mon, 12 Aug 2019 06:09:02 +0000 (UTC)
This is not modified by Thunderbird where as the other date is not really part of the message header, just something Thunderbird records about the email.
