How can I get the attachments to be listed in the header area of the email when printing, as opposed to at the end of the email thread?

Save email as .txt file. then edit file and print.
Print Preview prints email as it is or whatever is highlighted.
There was an addon which could do as you require, but I do not believe it works in version 68.
If you are still using version 60* then the following addon will help. https://addons.thunderbird.net/en-US/thunderbird/addon/printingtools/
Thanks Toad-Hall.
Unfortunately as I print a very large number of emails a day, the .txt option is not feasible.
I have version 68 and in fact the problem started with version 68. Previous versions were fine with the list of attachments displaying in the header when printing. So I am still stuck. I may have to migrate to Outlook if I can't resolve it as our file copies need to show what attachments were sent with an email. Any other settings or config that can be used?
re :our file copies need to show what attachments were sent with an email.
The printing should include the attachment data below the email to which it was attached. So the printed file copy would have this info.
If you had the attachments after header but before email content then it sounds like you were using an addon.
I've been looking into moving attachments to above message in Message Pane, so the print would change, but due to updates, inability to download chrome.xpi, I'm unable to get bindings to work. Sorry.
Thanks again for the response. Clearly you understand the issue, which is refreshing.
As is, the printing does list the attachments at the end of the thread, but that means printing the entire thread each time (rather than only the most recent email) which in our case means tons of paper and less visibility about the attachments.
Listing the attachments in the Message Pane was indeed the best. But I don't know what add-on I might have had.
I don't know what chrome.xpi is (and I don't use Chrome) but best of luck.
Sorry Toad-Hall, one more thing. Is it possible to roll me back to a previous version before the latest update that might resolve this for me?
Just to mention another option: the CustomizeMyBird add-on has the option to 'Attachments: move above mail content'. This add-on has been discontinued for TB 68, and I don't have TB 60 installed to confirm how this affects printing, same with PrintingTools which is for 60 or lower.
As for reverting to 60 from 68, this can tricky if you're not familiar with profile management. Running 60 on a profile that has been used by 68 will prompt an error. Best approach is to not run 60 right after installing it, but open Profile Manager and create a new profile, with a name such as tb60 to distinguish it from the existing profile. To start PM, close TB, Windowskey+R, type thunderbird.exe -p
If you just want to run 60 in the existing profile and bypass the error, try this in the Run dialog: thunderbird.exe -p --allow-downgrade
All this complexity is thanks to the 'profile protection' feature in TB 68.
Super. Let's see if I (or our IT guy) can manage. Thanks!
This is a link to version 60.9.1 win32. You need to select the language version eg: en-GB is English British Then download the 'Thunderbird Setup 60.9.1.exe' file.
