import json bookmark backup from pc to android mobile firefox
I have a backup of the bookmarks on my pc in the form of a .json file. This file is currently on my pc desktop. The pc is connected via usb to the android tablet which is running android 5.1.
I want to import the .json backup into the android firefox on the tablet. However all instructions for this refer to importing to and from pc versions of firefox where there it is possible to right click on the tab aea and select the menu bar. The menu bar gives access to the bookmark options.
As far as I can see the mobilesversion does not have this facility and I cannot therefore import the .json file.
I do not ant to use the 'sync' facility.

There are two .json files in the Nexus related to bookmarks:
/mnt/sdcard/android/data/com.rhmsoft.fm.hd/cache/cache/bookmarks-2015-04-26.json
/storage/emulated/0//android/data/com.rhmsoft.fm.hd/cache/cache/bookmarks-2015-04-26.json
I would like to rename those and replace them with the backup .json file. However, I do not think this can be done unless rooted.
com.rhmsoft.fm.hd is not Firefox, it is File Manager HD (Explorer). The files look to be some sort of cache for File Manager HD.
Firefox for Android does not support import or export of bookmarks in a file format.
Silly me!
I had not made any bookmarks in Firefox before looking for them!
However, you say "FF does not support............" I accept what you say but I still wonder how FF does store them. It would make sense to keep with the PC .json format and although FF does not give support, could you in fact replace the file if it was .json?
I do this all the time for the FF PC version.
I will make some bookmarks and see. It would still mean rooting the tablet.
The json format is used to backup bookmarks. In Firefox for Android the bookmarks are stored in a file called browser.db.
