When I did my high school reunion, Thunderbird would not allow me to send one email of 1100 classmates. I had to break the list down into smaller chunks by alphabet to get the emails out. Now I have to send an email to 231 recipients, and Thunderbird could not send it out in one chunk to that many either. What is the limit of recipients on a Mailing List that Thunderbird can handle to send one message? Trial and error takes too long.

There appears to be a limit of approximately 60 addresses when sending messages if you enter each address separately. However, if you use a mailing list for most of the addresses any limit is imposed by whatever SMTP server you use.

Email providers typically impose a hourly and/or daily send limit based on either how many messages you send, or the total number of recipients.

So you most likely hit a limit imposed by your email provider. You should talk to your email provider.

There are other means for mass mailings than Thunderbird. Google is your friend.
