I read that adobe flash is compatible with WinXP 32 so this is not the issue.

Why are you using an old version of Firefox? Have you tried the ESR version?

I am using an old version because I tried before the most recent version but still got crashes. Where is the ESR version? Not sure what you mean by those explanations and how to fix them.

I don't know those errors and called for more help.

You can install the Firefox ESR 52 version which will get security updates into early 2018, to get "more time" using Firefox.

I do still have XP working with Firefox (or at least it did a few weeks ago last time I tried it).

XP is outdated and not secure so it is probably a sensible precaution to scan with all the anti malware tools listed in

  Does that discover any issues ?

You should also test in Wiindows XP safe mode see if that helps.

Do you notice any pattern with the crashes ? for instance does any particular site or action such as watching Videos seem to be involved with the crashes?

The XP I am using is a fresh install. I wiped out the old partition and installed it new. I havent downloaded anything from net and I use Avira antivirus and a firewall so I am sure it is not the malware.

Even if it doesnt crash in Win safe mode, I cant keep using the safe mode all the time.

Most probably the crashes started after I installed the shockwave flash player. What can you tell from crash reports?

Firefox SafeMode is completely different than Window Safe Mode.

And as far as being a fresh install and saying that you have no malware, why does your latest crash report show PATROLPRO.DLL on the Modules tab? red-flagged Google search for PATROLPRO.DLL

First item in that search (for me) is How to remove Malware Patrol Pro or MalwarePatrol Pro

I was talking about Windows safe mode not being able to use it all the time....I put Firefox already in safe mode and it crashed as I posted 3 posts before yours. I also provided the crash report.

As for PATROLPRO.DLL, it is part of the program Winpatrol which is a great utility program to provide security and surveillance to windows. If the crash report is red flagging it so it may not be compatible with firefox (or its newer versions). I have been using winpatrol WITH firefox for many years. Crashes started several months ago after recent updates in firefox. So the newer versions of firefox may not be compatible with PATROLPRO.DLL. I am going to disable winpatrol and see what happens but this is certainly not a malware. None of the antivirus anti malware programs I use say so.

Hi again Genteleman_10 Sorry If I am not being very helpful. Perhaps these comments help you understand how we are trying to help. Firefox Safe Mode I did note your crash whilst using Firefox's safe mode. That is a troubleshooting method rather than a solution and does often help in narrowing down the possibilities. In your case you still crash, and the Crash Signature is not one I personally understand and see solutions for. Red Flags Some of the modules you have are highlighted in red. Although that merely indicates there is a problem with identifying them (absence of debug symbols) it does alert us to the fact that it is something unusual and potentially malware related or maybe not correctly & fully supported software. In some cases such files may be bogus and using the name of a genuine file, possibly being in the incorrect location for the genuine file. Malware Scans It is worth scanning with ALL the tools suggested, yes you could get false positives, but sometimes only one of the tools will pick up a problem, and it will be a genuine issue. Unless you do all the scans you do not get the results needed. Crash Reports Sorry we (or me personally) do not always fully understand the crash reports. The software engineers will, but they only investigate the most common and important Crash Signatures. Unfortunately that means I am trying instead to use a process of elimination rather than offering a targeted solution. Windows Safe Mode That is also a very important troubleshooting method. If it helps the problem is likely not with Firefox itself, but at least it points to the problem being Windows software, and allows us to make educated guesses as to what may or may not be the problem.

Thanks John99 for this explanation. I understand things are complicated and crash reports dont always provide an easy solution. At least you are trying to help. I have done a full malware scan but none was found. I will try to exit some suspected software and see what happens. If I come to new info I will let you know. Thanks again.

Goodbye firefox!! Finally I came to conclusion that firefox doesnt fit my computer. It is still crashing everyday so I uninstalled it. I am now using Vivaldi browser. I still believe the problem has to do with XP compatibility. It is the only program that crashes so I have to say goodbye after many years of use, until the engineers come up with something to solve this problem.
