I open tabs on Firefox on my phone and video autoplays in background tabs. I don't have unlimited data, and I don't like the sudden audio blaring out when I'm trying to be discreet. Is there any way to stop this? Other than this issue, I really like firefox. Thanks in advance for your help.

Chosen solution

On Firefox 41 which we will release next Tuesday you can use an option in the settings to disable the automatic playback of video.

  • Firefox's 3 dot menu or the phone's menu button
  • settings
  • display
  • uncheck Allow autoplay

Thanks! That's awesome.

That fixed one of my problems. The OTHER problem I have is autoplay in Firefox for Windows. Should be the latest version.

How do I stop it...it is annoying.
