Using IMAP, why can't my sent emails be stored in the "SENT" folder?

Using Thunderbird, I have several email accounts I access, and all are configured as IMAP.

They all work fine, except for one, which will not save - or read the IMAP "SENT" folder (and I guess other folders such as draft).

I can send and read emails, and see the INBOX, so any clue as to what needs to be changed to read the "SENT" folder?

It cannot be the size issue referenced elsewhere, as the account does not have many emails, and other email folders are far larger.

Many thanks,

Maybe the wrong sent folder is selected.

Tools > Account Settings > Copies & folders for the mail account Select: 'Place a copy in' Select 'Other' Select the 'Sent' or maybe the folder on the server is called 'Sent Items' for the mail account. click on OK

Many thanks for the answer, but before posting, I did try creating a new "Sent" folder locally, and that didn't work, so I confirmed that the folder was the correct one, and it still doesn't work :-(

re: I did try creating a new "Sent" folder locally, and that didn't work

If you logged onto webmail for that email address, there will be a sent folder. Maybe it is called 'Sent Items' or similar. This is the folder and account which you selected here: Tools > Account Settings > Copies & folders for the mail account Select: 'Place a copy in' Select 'Other' Select the 'Sent' or maybe the folder on the server is called 'Sent Items' for the mail account. click on OK

You need to subscribe to see the 'Sent' or 'Sent Items' Folder on the server. have you subscribed to see this folder?

Is this a gmail account?
