Has anyone seen this bug? I'm on ff 36.0.4 using windows 7, and always keep my ff window maximized. If I have say, 5 tabs open and quickly close three or four of them by clicking the x in each tab, ff will often exit its maximized state and enter window mode (if that's what its called), at which time I will then have to click on the maximize icon on the upper right in order to re-enter maximize mode. This has been an issue for the last few versions of ff. Only add-ons are classic theme restorer and tabmix plus. Thanks for any advice.

Hey John,

Windows will automatically unmaximise (I think in Windows terminology this is called "restore") a window if you double click on its title bar.

Ordinarily, Firefox's title bar is covered by your tabs. Perhaps what's happening is that as your quickly clicking the close button your tabs, some of your clicks are registering as being on the title bar instead.

If you single click the little "x" icons and wait moment between each click, does the window stay maximised?

Thanks!

That is a great point, I'm sure that's the problem, because I click pretty manically when doing this lest I waste a millisecond or two, so the title bar is surely getting clicked. Did not know that about windows. Thx

What is the value of the browser.tabs.drawInTitlebar pref?

You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. You can accept the warning and click "I'll be careful" to continue.

browser.tabs.drawInTitlebar in about:config is set to true

You could toggle the pref to false to avoid clicking the title bar in maximized mode when you click the tab bar.
