I use mozilla and the save passwords feature. On the tripadvisor.com site, I have a saved password. Yet, mozilla won't auto-fill the password.

Go to www.tripadvisor.com and try to sign in. If you don't have an account, don't worry, just click on sign-in and remember to turn on autocomplete on the form. Enter a username and password, when mozilla asks whether to save it or not, say yes.

OK. close your browser, clear cookies, all of that and go back to tripadvisor.com and click on sign-in.

The password won't be populated. Yet if you were to View Page Info -> Security, you'll see that passwords are stored. I can get the username and password from there and fill them in and that gets me logged in.

What I'd like to know is this. How can I get mozilla to populate the passwords automatically; they are stored, mozilla has them, just won't fill them in.

Maybe it is a safety thing. Maybe they do not want anyone to log in automatically if unauthorized and using someone else's computer?

This looks like a JavaScript generated form.
Firefox may save the name and password in such a case, but won't (autofill) the form in such a case.

There is currently work being done in the latest development version about this.

I too have problems with auto-fill of passwords. It started after the last firefox update. During the day it auto-fills and then an hour later it does not. And it is going like that all day on various sites .
