Hello OrDave,

I am sorry to hear that you are experiencing issues with Firefox 12.0 on Ubuntu, but I don't think there is much to be done as Adobe decided to drop support for Linux platforms and we will soon have to use open-source alternatives such as Gnash and Lightspark. You might want to try removing it from the software center and perhaps reinstall it from the Adobe website (http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/). If you need additional support, please post for help at the Ubuntu forums as they will be able to assist you more furtherly. You can also join the Ubuntu IRC or ask for help at askubuntu.com.

Thank you for your patience and all your interest in Mozilla Firefox and I wish you the best of luck in resolving this issue. Please mark my answer as a solution if it was helpful and have a great day!

Thanks for the recommendations, I solved the problem by downloading Firefox 12 from the Mozilla download site, then manually installing it.
