the ability to create a local sub folder is based on what you have selected in the folder pane. Select the local Folders account. Does it have the option?

In 60.7.0 this is not relevant, right-clicking on a folder does not have any options. It seems that you have to go through a menu where folders has an entry but there is no entry for creating folders or subfolders.

That is meaning something is wrong, but it does not answer Matt's question. When troubleshooting we may ask questions which might seem irrelevant to you, but they are not.

Confirm you get absolutely no pop up context menu when you perform a right click on all of the following:

  1. mail account name in Folder Pane
  2. 'Local Folders' mail account in Folder Pane
  3. top level folder in folder pane in any mail account.

Check: Is your mouse ok? Have you somehow got your right click and left click switched around ?

If you are right handed is mouse setting set up for left handed person?

If it is correctly setup: right click on email in list, do you get the drop down context menu?

If nothing is working, uninstall Thunderbird and then get a fresh download from here: https://www.thunderbird.net/en-US/thunderbird/all/

Choose appropriate language and correct OS for download. If Linux is 64bit make sure you select the Linux 64bit download option.

The mouse is OK for all other applications. For Thunderbird it seems that right-clicking has the same effect as left-clicking i.e I get no menues poping up when I right-click on anything. The only meny I can get is the menu-icon in the top right corner and that menu looks a bit weird (double columns). I thought this was the expected behaviour in this version but you indicate that this is not the case so I will do the uninstall/install when I have taken a good backup.

Restart Thunderbird with add-ons disabled from the help menu.

Missing context menus are usually the result of poorly behaving add-ons or themes. Often ones that have not been updated for the current version of Thunderbird.

Disabling add-ons didn't help, looks like reinstall is the best bet.

Are you saying you restarted from the help menu with add-ons disabled? Or you disabled add-ons and restarted. They are two completely different things. So I have to be sure.

I disabled add-ons and re-started last time. I have since re-installed Thunderbird and now everything is normal again. Thanks for the help Jerry
