I often receive a 403 error when using Firefox Every time, before this happens, I get the unsafe website warning and then the 403 error when I continue anyway

I am using the latest version at the time of writing These errors only occur on my desktop PC I have tried to replicate this issue on both my phone (Android) and another laptop(Windows 11) but all the websites work normally on there.

I have tried the following, none of which have any effect:

  • Clearing cookies
  • using Troubleshoot mode
  • Restarting
  • Changing Useragent
  • Using "Forget about this site"

The following do fix the issue

  • Using a VPN
  • Using Google Chrome
  • Running Firefox in another profile

Going through the privacy and security tab and reseting all the settings sometimes works but only temporarily

The following are a few websites where the issue occurs

I've asked about this before but got no help Firefox is my browser of choice. Occasionally, I find in necessary to use Chrome.

The vast majority of time, when are both are active at the same time, one or both crash, like today. Firefox closed abruptly, then the crash report appeared. I have the crash report. Chrome froze up, and had to be shut down in Task Manager.

It only occurs in this scenario. Rarely does Firefox crash otherwise.

Can someone please advise where to go to get help?

Hello, I have uninstalled and reinstalled firefox twice using two different ways found on the community/mozilla website through chrome and I am still having trouble. It started a couple weeks ago when I received a notice at the top right hand of my firefox page for an update. I tried and it shows as Unable to connect. I tried various ways to connect with mozilla with no luck. I uninstalled, restarted my computer and reinstalled twice and still having the same issue. I lost all my plug ins and add ons after the reinstall and now I can't not even get them and can no longer sign into my firefox account through firefox. Anything that has to do with mozilla I can not reach unless I use chrome which I don't like doing. I have searched the community and nothing seems to help and I even submitted a help question in help community but no responders. Anything which I found addressing Unable to Connect was years old anyway. I can only assume it had to do with the update pop up which I never got to do and assumed a refresh or a reinstall would take care of it but it hasn't. What can I do? Thank You, Charyl

I believe there is a memory leak (or memory growth) bug in Firefox 133.0 on Windows 10. It's site-specific. I am trying to login to my account at https://www.ssa.gov/, and it never actually gets to the login prompt. Using the Windows task manager, I can see the RAM usage keeps increasing, until it nears the 12 GB installed RAM capacity, at which time I kill the firefox process. I'd say this is a bug in ssa.gov, except the problem does not occur with the google chrome browser.

To provide further detail, I go to site https://www.ssa.gov/, and click on the "sign in" button. That takes me to the page where you choose the login method (id.me or login.gov) and I choose "id.me". It takes me to the "you are leaving Social Security's website " message, which is still on the ssa.gov website. At that point, firefox memory usage starts to increase, as shown in task manager. The browser never advances to the next page, but main memory usage keeps going up. This goes on for about 30 seconds before I have to kill the firefox process.

Thunderbird is not working anymore. I can start writing an email but after about 5 min it dont take any characters any more. Its lagging and does out. Its in the draft folder and I ry to open but it will not work. If I just write a short message its no problem but as soon as I start write longer messages it will be trouble. It doesnt help restarting the computor. I use win 7 and the latest version. The problem started about a week ago. Writing this is no problem but if I would do it in Thunderbird it will not work by this long in the text. Best regards Stefan stefan@besthe.se

Hi,

The newest Firefox has an issue with properly parsing the javascript links in the ACS research journal articles. In these research articles, citations are clickable numbers in parenthesis. Clicking on them leads to a pop-up frame that gives detailed reference article information.

However, with the latest version of Firefox these citation links will only respond properly to the first click ever on the page. After you close the pop-up frame, any subsequent clicks on any of these links will have no response.

I attach an example article below. This bug has been repeated under Trouble Shoot Mode and I do not encounter the same issue with Chrome brower. https://pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/jacsau.2c00048

When I access chat.google.com and attempt to play a video that is uploaded to chat, it will not play. The built in player opens with a red play button but clicked it does nothing. These videos used to work up until sometime earlier this year. Most of the videos are uploads from someone's phone and they appear to be mp4. I've tried private windows, removing firefox along with all program data and profiles and starting with a clean slate with no luck. Other browsers play the videos fine, just not firefox. Attempting to play videos that used to work no longer work. Suggestions?

Scenario: I am running a node.js UI that proxies requests to the backend API. When `timeout=10` (or any valid timeout) is located in the request URL, the request will be proxied at the timeout interval ten times. In this example, every ten seconds it will reattempt for ten attempts.

If I run the same code in another browser's console, it is only executed once.

I am suspecting that there is some pre-parsing of the URL that is occurring that is making this happen.

Fetch Command: ``` await fetch("http://localhost:8080/config?timeout=10", {

   "credentials": "omit",
   "headers": {
       "User-Agent": "Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:132.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/132.0",
       "Accept": "application/json",
       "Accept-Language": "en-US,en;q=0.5",
       "Content-Type": "application/json",
       "Sec-Fetch-Dest": "empty",
       "Sec-Fetch-Mode": "cors",
       "Sec-Fetch-Site": "same-origin",
       "Priority": "u=0",

"Timeout": 40

   },
   "referrer": "http://localhost:8080/swagger/index.html?config=/config/swagger",
   "method": "POST",
   "mode": "cors"

}); ```

In the POST API, there is a 30 second sleep, then it raises a 408 error code.

When navigating to msn.com/en-us, and about 5S after the page loads, the majority of the page is covered with an ad. This only happens when using an ExpressVPN Santa Monica connection (most reliable and fastest).

If I use another VPN server location the problem is not present. Additional information: - Location: Dongguan, China - Using Google Chrome does not cause a problem. - ExpressVPN have no solution or explanation at this time. The VPN app is set to block ads but this does not help - If I connect using Surfshark there is no problem. - OS is WIN10 64-bit fully updated. - Equipment is an Asus notebook. - This issue has only appeared on or about 5 Nov which is around the time Firefox updated. - I have updated manually but no luck.

I have attached a before and after shot.

Any suggestions will be much appreciated.
