my inbox has been emptied and i can't send or recieve e-mails

I opened my inbox up this morning and it was empty (did have a lot of business e-mails) now its totally empty and i can't send or recieve any mails. The mails that i had saved in seperate folders are still there Help!!!!!

Try to repair the inbox folder. right-click the 'Inbox' in the 'Folder Pane' Select 'Properties' On the 'General Information' tab press 'Repair Folder' Close and re-open Thunderbird

"Repairing" the inbox hasn't helped at all. I can't believe all those emails just disappeared without a trace.
