I am receiving duplicate emails after I read and delete them, sometimes more than one duplicate. What could be causing this?

more options

you may check your account settings on what happens after you've downloaded the e-mails. Will they be kept on the server or deleted? Also you could get weirred results if you have different setting on different devices (e.g. smartphone, outlook, Thunderbird, etc.).
