Cannot create email account: NS_ERROR_FAILURE
I have setup numerous accounts with little to any issues but this one is beyond me. I have never seen this issue before and can't figure out what I must do to correct it.
I setup up automatic account and everything ( it finds the server settings and they are correct ) is fine until I hit DONE and I get this error message.
[Exception... "Component returned failure code: 0x80004005 (NS_ERROR_FAILURE) [nsIMsgAccountManager.removeIncomingServer]" nsresult: "0x80004005 (NS_ERROR_FAILURE)" location: "JS frame :: chrome://messenger/content/accountcreation/verifyConfig.js :: verifyConfig :: line 116" data: no] What must I do to get past this? Thanks in advance. A true open-source fan

have a look in the account setting on the tools menu. It sounds to me like you already have a failed setup for that account or perhaps the server.
No, I'm sorry Matt it took so long to respond. Many things on my plate. No, I do not find a failed account setup on my client, but then again other than in tools dialog I would not be certain where to look. As far as the server that concerns me because of the reference in the error code to a chrome js file. Huh. Maybe If I revert to older installation of the Thunderbird it will solve the problem? Not sure course of action at this point. I have never had any problems navigating through this until now. Tom
