How do I block sliding Background adds outside of the page margins
12.02.14 I'm using Windows 8.1 and Mozilla 26.0
On a wide screen monitor, I have blank space left and right of the page edges. I have intrusive full page adds that sit behind the page.
Normally they're visible at top, right and left of page - outside the page area. When I scroll the page up or down the adds move up or down also with the scroll,
BUT when I pull up an extended chart that overlaps the right page edge, the adds move down abutting the right page edge and cover the vital information on the chart that extends over the page edge.
These intrusive adds sit in the foreground blocking anything that overlaps the edge of the page.
How to I expunge, eradicate, supress, block, destroy, exterminate the intrusive adds?
Or do I have to dump Mozilla and use another browser?

Go to the Mozilla Add-ons Web Page (There’s a lot of good stuff here) and look for a good add / pop-up blocker.

Does this happen on a particular site, or on all sites?
Could you test in Firefox's Safe Mode? That's a standard diagnostic tool to bypass interference by extensions (and some custom settings). More info: Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode.
You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using
Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
In the dialog, click "Start in Safe Mode" (not Reset)
Any difference?
Thanks guys. I used the add on blocker. It worked like a charm. Didn't get around to trying the safe mode. I'll remember that for the next mozilla problem.
I seem to get more than my fair share of "not responding"
jscher2000 - problem was with www.iii.co.uk. You pull up a chart, it overlaps the page edge and wallop down comes this repulsive add to cover the detailed info at the right hand edge of chart so you haven't a clue what you're assessing any an longer.
