How to get back my customizations on toolbar disappeared
I noticed my top and bottom of screen buttons gone. Then I noticed by back and forward buttons were gone. I was able to find the back and forward and restore them but not the top and bottom of screen buttons. now I noticed by backward and forward are gone again too and I don't know why
Now those things don't even show up as options - the buttons that I'm missing and I also need to enlarge / zoom out or in. How come these things just disappear? I use them all the time and it is very inconvenient to lose them.
As it is I am using history to move backward and foreward which is better than nothing but not good.

I updated the question so I erased the additional info here. Wasn't aware questions could be edited - now I wish that responses could be deleted.

Make sure all toolbars are visible.
- "3-bar" Firefox menu button > Customize > Show/Hide Toolbars
- View > Toolbars
Tap the Alt key or press F10 to show the Menu Bar - Right-click empty toolbar area
Open the Customize window and set which toolbar items to display.
- "3-bar" Firefox menu button > Customize
- if missing items are in the Customize palette then drag them back from the Customize window on the toolbar
- if you do not see an item on a toolbar and in the Customize palette then click the Restore Defaults button to restore the default toolbar setup
You can check for problems caused by a corrupted localstore.rdf file.
You can also check for problems with the browser.uiCustomization.state pref and check for problems with preferences.
Delete possible user.js and numbered prefs-##.js files and rename (or delete) the prefs.js file to reset all prefs to the default value including prefs set via user.js and prefs that are no longer supported in the current Firefox release.
