I was trying to register a digital signature certificate on www.incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in. When the site requested to run Java applet JRE7, which I allowed. But then the small window pops up with the following message;

Application Blocked for security reason The Application cannot be run. Name: StoreCertificate Location: http://incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in Reason: Your security settings have blocked a self-signed application from running

Dear Philipp I'm really thankful fro your prompt response and for identifying the root problem. I followed the instruction given on the link provided by you, but, the problem still continues. It would be very helpful if you could suggest the way out with screenshots for a lay man like myself.

Dear Philipp

The problem is solved; you gave the correct solution to it. I was adding exception in the browser's security, whereas,actually I should have added the exception in the Windows' Java control panel which I realized from the screen shot on the following link. https://blogs.oracle.com/java-platform-group/entry/upcoming_exception_site_list_in

Thank you once again
