Mozilla Thunderbird (Not Responding) Fresh install WIN7 64bit
Hi,
As per the title, fresh install of Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit on a new machine, only installed updates and one program aside from Thunderbird.
When starting Thunderbird it is immediatley unresponsive. If you try to close the program it will say "Thunderbird is not responding, if you close the program, you might lose information. Close the program. Wait for the program to respond" If you then choose to wait for it to respond it will eventually work (sometimes) but will instantly crash if asked to do anything remotley taxing above sending an email, clicking on 'Starred' for example will crash the program.
I'm having trouble with being prompted for the crash report too, I managed to submit a crash report (and submit my email addy) but I forgot to copy the report to post here.
Thanks

Your crash IDs are listed at Help | Troubleshooting. Please post a few of them here - in text format please, not screen shot.
Regarding "Not responding"
1a) are you on version 38.2.0 which just released? 1b) if not, Have a look at options | advanced | general. Is hardware acceleration unchecked?
2) if you start Thunderbird in safe mode via Help | Restart, does the problem go away?
Hi, thanks for replying.
It's only submitted three report IDs, they are: bp-73ed456d-afbc-4305-885a-8f0782150818 bp-c5576685-768e-4235-b733-88c8f2150818 bp-fb5b572c-c126-4689-9f38-dfb552150818
In answer to your questions: 1a) Version 38.2.0 1b) Use hardware acceleration when available - is unchecked.
2) No, starting in safe mode doesn't help - still not responding.
Thank you
