Hi,

First of all this is not about the predownload dialog. After I have downloaded a file and click on the file to open in downloads menu, firefox initiates emacs to open the archive file. Why does it simply not open it with default application? Also with images, it starts nautilus window, instead of opening in default image viewer. How can I change this?

Firefox: 44.0.2 Ubuntu: 14.04 LTS

Thanks a lot!

Firefox has its own settings for what to do with what type of file. Type about:preferences#applications<enter> in the address bar. Use the search bar at the top of the page.

This corresponds to the download dialog and default behavior. My problem is to open a file from the downloaded files menu. In that preferences page, emacs is not even set to any file type. Somehow, Firefox manages to open archive files with emacs, which is weird.
