I have entered new stmp settings, TB restarts and operates fine both sending and receiving emails. However, when I manually close TB and re-open it, it reverts to the old settings. How can I get it to save the new settings?

How do you know it has reverted to old settings?

Have you tried deleting the old settings?

Hi Zenos. I have installed TB on Windows 7 on another machine and want to migrate the old profile across (via an USB, saved to usual path on WE). I want to pull across all the emails, folders, etc. but I also need to change the stmp settings to new settings. This seemed to work fine but as described above when I closed TB down and restarted it, it behaved as if I hadn't changed any of the stmp settings. So last night I decided to start again. I uninstalled TB, re-installed it and it came up with a message saying it could not find my profile. So I invoked TB.exe -p, entered all relevant info, sent message which went fine, closed TB down, checked the usual path in WE for the new profile - not there. Tried to re-open TB, it said it could not find my profile. What on earth is going on?

Please post this info:

Post images showing what you have in these locations. C:\Users\<Windows user name>\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird Open the 'profiles.ini' file using notepad. Post image showing the contents.

C:\Users\<Windows user name>\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles I need to see what profile folder names are in the 'Profiles' folder.
