I have used Firefox for a few years. I have an account with Mozilla and have posted on the Firefox community support forums over the years. I am now trying to get some help with Firebird, so I went to that forum. When I tired to post I got some popup box about satisfaction and twitter and facebook etc.. I am not a member at any of those sort of sites, do not visit them and have no intention of doing so.

So is this setup telling me I can not get any support with Thunderbird if I do not join? If so I guess I will have to find another program to handle email.

I do not understand the reason behind this happening or being required by Mozilla.

Fireboard? Firebird? Exactly which forum are you talking about? Like maybe the URL of that forum?

you mention Firefox, Firebird and Thunderbird so what forum were you trying to login at?. A link would have helped.

Firebird was the name of browser we know as Firefox during versions 0.6 -0.7 (before it was Phoenix for 0.1 to 0.5) then it became Firefox as of 0.8 due to another open source app using the name Firebird already. Thunderbird is a email client and not a web browser.

The support forum for Thunderbird is at https://getsatisfaction.com/mozilla_messaging while the support forum for Firefox is here https://support.mozilla.org/questions/ where you posted this thread. These two forums do not share the same account as they are different forum software for starters.

Sorry very busy and flustered. Let me restate it.

I need some help with Thunderbird from Mozilla and can not seem to get it using the support forum.

Well in order to post on https://getsatisfaction.com/mozilla_messaging you need to create a "Get Satisfaction account" account or the poster can instead sign in with their twitter/facebook/gmail/Windows Live/OpenID account instead as that forum does not allow Guest posting.

A active (unofficial) forum you can post at for Thunderbird (and also Firefox/SeaMonkey) help is at http://forums.mozillazine.org however you will need to create a forum account there. Note that new members first post there requires post approval before being seen by public due the forum targeted by spam run attempts.
