I couldn't remember my master password for the security system device when trying to establish a new account after changing my isp. I used a Mozilla solution for deleting the password that said to go to the Error Console Tool and insert a command. But now I can't get Thunderbird to verify my new user name and password, even after entering a new master password. I believe t-bird is now corrupted with the inserted line of code. How can I delete t-bird but not delete my user data and then start from scratch? The error message in creating the account is

[Exception..."Component failure code 0x0004005 (NS_ERROR_FAILURE) [nsIMsgAccountManager.createIncomingServer]" nsresult: "0x0004005 NS_ERROR_FAILURE)" location: JS frame :: chrome://messenmger/content/accountcreation/verifyConfig.js :: verifyConfig :: line 60" data: no]

Yes you can delete thunderbird and not lose your data, because it's stored separately. The problem is that that the corruption or whatever is almost certainly in the stored data. If so, reinstalling the program is unlikely to fix things.
