Adobe flash plugin keeps crashing. Please help!
So my adobe flash plugin apparently keeps crashing and this has been going on for awhile now. When I watch videos on youtube, the audio will stutter. Sometimes the video will crash too and whenever I watch a video on teennick.com, the video is constantly freezing and/or crashing. I've tried using the 'safe mode" version of firefox and the problem still happens. This is so frustrating, someone please help.

acidhead, Thanks for reporting your solution to Flash lockups, which included reinstalling the Flash plugin after first doing a complete uninstall, including manual removal of leftover Flash files and folders.
For the benefit of others reading, Adobe includes instructions for uninstalling Flash on Windows in their own help article (linked from the Flash Plugin - Keep it up to date and troubleshoot problems Firefox article) which is:

Other, more technical information about these issues can be found under these Links:
I've already tried re-installing firefox and flash, they are both up to date. I've done the disable hardware acceleration and I'm pretty sure I do not have real player installed. I think I've tried updating my graphics driver recently and it was already up to date. I think I've tried everything, and nothing seems to work. This really sucks.
If I downgrade to another version of flash, wouldn't that make my computer vulnerable?
As long as you have a good antivirus you should be fine, this is mainly for troubleshooting.
Have you seen if disabling "protected mode" helps?
Okay I downgraded Flash to 10.3 I believe and I'm not having issues with videos (so far). Yet, my audio still stutters sometimes. It's weird because it will go through the whole video, song or whatever and the audio will start stuttering towards the end.
You should try to disable protected mode in a newer flash version than using a old version of flash.
Okay I'll try it. What does protected mode mean anyways?
You asked, What does protected mode mean anyways?
See This Adobe post: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1018071 How do I troubleshoot Flash Player's protected mode for Firefox?'
(To disable Flash Protected Mode, see the Last Resort section.)
I have recently received update from the problematic 11.7. 11.8.94 (including in the various modes, including safe mode) is no improvement. The plugin interferes with programs not requiring a plugin (script only) in the loading until you stop the plugin, and more recently you have to answer the question twice -stop the plugin- to get the program loaded.
It also interferes with skype messaging, slowing receipt of messages by hours and taking over 4 hours to send messages. Voip is impossible and it has radically reset my sound system settings.
Curious thing though, if I have left windows 7 running and I am then left with my desktop only (no icons, another cock up by MSN requiring the later -also imperfect W8- to be bought to cure a defect that should have been remedied anyway) and I reboot, the plugin suddenly starts working properly allowing games and fast loading of programs not requiring the plugin in.
Furthermore, on scrolling down screens downloaded from the internet when the plugin is interfering, the scrolling is jerky and slow, i.e ITV TV guide.I have tried a number of clearing out of11.7/8, using the uninstaller and reloading, all to no avail or effect. The problem persists.
Question, what is in the code that now allows the plugins to interfere with programs that do not require a plugin, or to interfere with settings for other programs on the computer? Was a raw computer illiterate rookie greenhorn let loose on the programming?
Also noted since these travails, on shutdown of the computer there is a delay to shutdown as unspecified programs (allegedly running in the background) have to be closed down so a further delay of several seconds. What are these programs (which must have been opened by the plugin/FF)?
Answers should be given and there should be a total rewrite by (a) seasoned program writer(s), well experienced in writing like programs and to be urgently done.

Adobe Flash is incompatible with Firefox. Oh, sure, I tried to disble protected mode, and guess what? I need to have admini-right privileges to open the mms.cfg to do so. Which are impossible to obtain. Catch-22. What a nightmare.
HI,
I am also having same issue and it seems that neither Mozilla nor Adobe is interested in resolving the problem. The result is same, Adobe Flash Plugin crashed. In my case, I have right click on Flash based component and go to settings ;just then Firefox hangs for some time and Adobe flash crashed.
Thus, now I have moved to Chrome and it is working fine; though I missed FF features and working environment.
My adobe flash keeps crashing.

Hi morgan60, have you made a new question, problems are more likely to get fixed asking a new question instead of getting into someone elses thread.
Curiosity, I eventually loaded chrome and it worked, sort of but it is shown for some games as not being adequate, but hey presto, loading FF, the games worked and I was able to to hear a utube clip sent to me as well as see it, in firefox.
Unfortunately ff crashing again, it seems that you have to have chrome as the default browser.
Adobe caused the problem and they should clearly be responsible for the wasted time, cost of resetting the settings, by professionals and that is costly. It also screwed up my Skype connection for a fortnight now and I suspect also screwed up my email settings. Probably negligently alowed a raw rookie to do the revision.
This came from a client who is quite knowledgeable on the subject, but hasn't the time to dedicate to the problem.
Here is what he said:-
"Unfortunately this is the fundamental flaw with windows - it used common .dll files which applications are free to update with their own versions. Result one innocently updates an insignificant .dll and another application suddenly stops working. In that pas this led to the "blue screen of death" but they've disabled that now (marketing ploy) so you have zero idea that the problem exists until subtle changes in behaviour in one or more installed apps."
My flash plugin is crashing the FF.
