Restore bookmarks afer re-installing Firefox post computer virus?!

more options

I am TRULY hoping one of you can help me with this.

My PC recently had an awful awful virus. As a result, the Geek Squad guys totally wiped out my computer and re-installed everything. Is there ANY WAY HUMANLY POSSIBLE that SOMEWHERE in this fantastic cyber world that Firefox remembers what my bookmarks were? Does it save them anywhere?!

Any and all help would be much appreciated.

Thank you so much!

Elyssa

I don't THINK so?!

It's been so long - I don't remember if I did or not -but I'm assuming NOT because after you asked that - I literally just signed up for it now - and I'm assuming if I had in the past - it would have let me know?!

ugg ...thanks for responding though - i really appreciate it

Hi, it doesn't sound hopeful but you can try this: First open bookmarks > Show All Bookmarks > Import and Backup > Restore, and see if you have a backup there.

If not, please see-

This won't help you now, but for future reference, an easy way to backup your bookmarks, is to plug in a USB flash drive, then open bookmarks > Show All Bookmarks > Import and Backup > Export Bookmarks to HTML, then navigate to your flash drive and save them to it - you can restore them from there even if your computer fails.

If your question is resolved by this or another answer, please take a minute to let us know. Thank you.

The Sync service uses your email address as the "username" - no message about an existing account if you used a different email address when signing for Sync this time. Plus, Sync was changed a year ago with Firefox 29 - so if you can't remember if you had a Sync account it may have been on the old version of Sync.
