Currently hitting the 'X' at the right side of a tab closes it. This is for any tab. But I've got "fumble fingers" and when I'm cross-scrolling between tabs I sometimes hit the x on a tab that I don't intend to close. As I see it, there are two potential solutions. 1) Make the time that the "Closed -- Undo" message is visible a bit longer(or adjustable) so it is easier to use 2) Modify the code so that only the active tab can be closed by hitting the 'X'. From what I know about coding, I'd bet that there is a variable that tracks the currently active tab to control what is actually visible. Simply comparing that to the tab name of the tab with the "close request" should solve the problem, and probably also meets the "least surprise" test as well.

The big problem is that fingers are not as precise as a mouse is.

Cheers,

Hi

Thank you for your question and your interest in Firefox for Android.

Due to the smaller form size of mobile versions of Firefox a great deal of effort is put into making them easy to use, and part of this is making sure that future versions are more accessible.

Please appreciate that if it was that only the active tab could be closed, it could pose a challenge for users that want to close a tab that is not the active tab. This could be the case if a tab is no longer needed or if it is taking longer to load than is required.

If you do accidentally close a tab, you can see it on the home screen under History and Recently closed.

I hope this helps, but if not, please come back here and we will do our best to find a different solution for you.
