Map printing in new Google maps

more options

When I try to print in the new Google maps, the map shows all black in preview or print edit; doesn't matter if I use print under File menu or under printer icon in upper right. It all works if I revert to Internet Explorer, but I hate that. I tried every suggestion I saw on the topic, but none works except reverting to the old Google maps, but that keeps trying to load the new version.

Does it help if you disable hardware acceleration in Firefox?

You can try to revert to the classic Google maps version.

I'm trying to avoid the new Google Maps, but I see the same problem.

When I visit the page in Google Chrome, I notice the menu bar in the lower right says "Lite Mode". Hmm... after some searching around, I switched Firefox to using "Lite Mode" by opening this URL:

https://www.google.com/maps/preview/?force=canvas

After that, I can preview the map normally.

I think the problem here is that the site is not properly detecting Firefox's access to advanced graphical capabilities, so it is defaulting to a view that isn't fully supported. I have disabled hardware acceleration on this system, so maybe that's the issue?

Anyway, does that work for you?

You might need to keep this URL around if you clear your Google cookies on a regular basis. (I'm assuming the Lite Mode preference is stored in a cookie.)
