Have that "someone" post here and we can help that person fix whatever is wrong. There is no widespread issue with Firefox 36 on Mac OSX that would cause a slow running condition.

Any settings need to configure to ensure it run fast on Mac OS X?

Hey, am using firefox on my mac air 13.3 (yosemite), and i must say that there is no problem so far. tell that "someone" to clean cache and cookies, or may be a reinstall could fix it.

the latest version of FireFox have been slow for me. I am not sure if the browser just became real "heavy" but it is not what I have been used to and I winded up switching to Chrome which was not what I wanted to do but comparing the two.

Chrome is allowing me to simply get to my website quicker. In FireFox it appears that it sort of freezes everything for a few seconds like it is using all of the resources and then goes to the website during those few seconds you can't switch between applications and you just have to wait.

I followed the tip to uncheck Hardware accelerator which made faster but it's still very slow from what I have been used to. I use several add on's like Firebug, Last Pass, Evernote but they are universal for all browsers and is what I need.

I use the Macbook Pro 2.6GHZ with i7 with the Yosemite 10.10.3 16 GB Ram

Not sure what else I can do?

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problem.

See "Creating a profile":

If the new profile works then you can transfer files from a previously used profile to the new profile, but be cautious not to copy corrupted files to avoid carrying over problems.

Try to disable IPv6 (check for other possible causes as well).
