As soon as I turned on my computer today, multiple pages of Mozilla Firefox opened, trying to access Facebook. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Mozilla, hoping maybe it was an issue with a corrupted file or needed to be updated. However, it is still doing the same thing after reinstalling. I am not clicking on the Mozilla icon or trying to open anything. Most of the time, this happens when my computer is idle. Nothing changed with the computer over the last couple days and I have not visited any websites that I wouldn't normally go to. I ran a virus scan with my Norton and also ran a Microsoft Security Scan, neither one detected any malware, spyware, or adware. I am not sure if this is a computer issue or just a Mozilla issue. It is only happening with Mozilla and just started today.

As a diagnostic test, could you change your default browser back to Internet Explorer? If the pages are being launched by software that simply loads URLs in your current default browser, then you would expect the pages to open in IE. (If the pages still load in Firefox, then, hmm, what is doing that?)

If you added Mozilla in Startup Folder, it opens automatically.

Try to use the Combofix

Do a malware check with several malware scanning programs on the Windows computer.
Please scan with all programs because each program detects different malware.
All these programs have free versions.

Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.

You can also do a check for a rootkit infection with TDSSKiller.
