I have a possible Firefox specific attack/corruption When using the search box (upper right) with Google selected as the search engine, search results returned often have redirects as addresses (on mouseover of link) This only affects Google derived results - not yahoo, Altavista etc However - if I go to google.com and run the search there all links are preserved (and connect) properly ! Something seems to be corrupting the Firefox search function with Google only ! Run numerous virus and spyware checks - nothing shows.........

Help !

This happened

Every time Firefox opened

== possibly after upgrade to 3.6.3 ?

This just started in the last week. And is giving me some very annoying websites. Everything from porn, download and instal virus scanner, blank pages, cant run script pages, all kinds of wacky stuff.

This is only when using the hotbar search. Seemsto be affecting all the available search engines on the hotbar. Going directly to www.ggogle.com acts normally

Do a malware check with a few malware scan programs. You need to use all programs because each detects different malware. Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of the database.
