Hate (HATE) new appearance of FF after 89.0 update.
After updating to 89.0 the appearance of FF is horrendous. that light coloring, change of tabs, and etc. I want to revert to the color schemes I have before. How do I do that? It is so ugly, I will seriously go back to Google Chrome if I cannot; and that is a huge statement coming from me.

Sadly, you might as well pack and move to Chrome. Everyone hates the layout but in another thread, one of the moderators stated that this is part of the "Firefox experience". So, they're fully committed to this garbage.

Is the main issue the color scheme -- can you live with the tab shape?
If you prefer the older Windows 10 "default" theme style of a dark navy background, a user has created an add-on theme to restore the color:
https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/photon-colors/
Regarding the tab shape, the button/bubble style tab isn't to everyone's taste. I can give you a short-term workaround, but a more durable solution will require more work.
Temporary Fix
For testing purposes, there is a preference to switch the tab bar and address bar between new style and old style. This is not expected to continue in Firefox 90, but maybe you want to use it for now.
(1) In a new tab, type or paste about:config in the address bar and press Enter/Return. Click the button accepting the risk.
(2) In the search box in the page, type or paste browser.proton.enabled and pause while the list is filtered
(3) Double-click the preference to switch between true (new style) and false (old style)
Longer Term Community Workaround
This involves setting up a userChrome.css file. I have a rules builder that will get more features throughout the month. By the time the above preference is removed, it should be mature. If you want to take a sneak peek now:
Thanks so much for the link to the old theme style. This new update is not for me!!! And to do the "userChrome.css file" I would not know how.
The about:config option does not work for me? Looks like goodbye Firefox hello Chrome. Please please someone put this back as was for us laptop lot. Why the sudden bias toward smartphones? Make them a separate browser.
I am finding Web Pages are looking different also. Some page formatting features are removed from the pages so viewing tables with color high-lights are gone and page size restrictions. I have reinstalled 88.0.1 and changed the compatibility.ini file back to 88.0.1 with only partial success as some of the changes relating to 89.0 are hidden elsewhere. The great features of Firefox which beat the alternatives for years are now being removed to reduce size of installation so 10 year olds can use it on there toy devices... What was a Real World product is deteriorating to a Cafe Club user mentality and is not fit for real Engineering environments...

Can you start a new question about website incompatibilities and glitches? These kinds of technical questions tend to get lost in the noise of the aesthetics.
It seems my Mozilla world is unstable. Thunderbird updates screwed up unified folders and I can't get that fixed -- it won't hold that setting. Now this Firefox rehash is jumbling everything together moving tools that made it my favorite in the first place. This update is painful. I reinstalled 88 and by the time I finished switching it to default, it had upgraded to 89 again. Hopefully they'll rethink this.
Partially works. Dropdown box is dark blue with white print. Never was before - I believe it was a very pale blue? Someone correct me if I got that wrong.
Screwed up the closed captioning on YouTube (dark gray and gray for white captions) Only the top bar resembles the old Firefox Colors. Please bring back the old colors. I have eye problems and I distinguish my browsers by the colors. I'd also like to see the firefox Icon where it used to be in the upper left hand corner - would be a huge help.
Hi everyone, It doesn't look like the person who posted the original question is going to respond, and others seem to be using this thread for there own issues, so I'm going to lock this thread.
For better help, it would be best to use https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/new where volunteers can get more details about your setup.
