I have just reinstalled Ubuntu 16.04 and FF 60.8.0esr, just found out that FF does not open URL link in email in a tab, instead opens up a new browser! In my previous install, this version of FF was working fine, but there's a difference, I had installed a newer version of FF in my previous install, but on this one, I removed the FF that came with Ubuntu and installed 60.8.0esr (reason for using this specific version is newer ones some sites that I need to visit quite often does not work). How can I fix or troubleshoot this problem? ps: dual boot Windows 8.1 + Ubuntu 16.04.

Hi michaelbr, Did you check: Options -> General -> Open links in tabs instead of new windows

more options

Sorry, I forgot to mention it, yes, it was the 1st thing I checked, and it's selected, but still whenever I click on the link, it opened a new browser instead of new tab, I thought maybe some glitch, so unchecked and checked again, still the same. The most strange is the link that I clicked is not showing in the new browser, only my home pages, so my workaround for now is to copy/paste the url into the browser and not clicking it.
